There
really is no comparison comparing Dial-Up and High Speed for
Internet access. Dial-Up in the next year or two will not exist.
OK. So
I need high speed. Do I get Verizon DSL or Comcast High Speed
for my connection to the Internet. The debate is more or less
about speed vs. money at the time of this writing. Comcast
Standard Business services are about $20-$35 more than Verizon's
basic business plan. Both services can have their speeds
increased. Comcast only offers one bump up in services and
nearly doubles the cost while Verizon offers multiple tiers of
speed at a smaller cost increase per bump.
There
are also other providers of Internet in the New Bedford - Fall
River area. Pipeline Wireless offers a wireless solution to
customers once they have a receiver dish installed at their
location. The drawback there is obviously inclement weather and
the fact that you need a line of site to one of Pipeline's
towers. Other providers of high speed resell Verizon's line at a
discounted rate. While this might seem like a better deal then
what Verizon has to offer you have to remember that by buying
from a reseller you put another person into the mix when it
comes to problems. If your Internet feed stops working even
though Verizon is the owner of the line you have to call your
reseller to report the problem and then they in turn need to
work with Verizon at resolving the issue. By buying directly
from Verizon you eliminate the reseller but pay more.
At HTE
Computer Consulting+ we examine the companies Internet needs and
recommend the best solution on a case by case basis.
